Found one of my breeder cock's dead this AM. they were feeding 2 squeakers. I put the Squeeks on the floor, they are about 3 wks old. Do you think the hen will feed them? Should I leave them in the nest? I thought that if they were on the floor, maybe some of the other Breeders with squeeks will feed them. I don't know why the Cock died. He was healthy looking last night. None of my other birds look sick. Cock was an 02 bird.

Showlow, leave them in the nest with the hen for a couple days, if she feeds them then good. Just recently, I had a hen take care of a single squeaker that was only about 2 or 3 days old without the cock bird. The youngster is doing fine, is now out of the nest and eating on its own.

Thank you for the input. I locked the hen back in with the babies. 1 of them has a full crop, not the other one. I will leave them locked up for a while.
