I live on Gabriola Island,one of the southern Gulf Islands on Canada's west coast.Gawdsowncountry.These days,I paint houses and look after peoples gardens for a living as well as growing alot of our own food in our yard.Also do a few fishing charters with my old 30ft wooden cruiser.
I had a few pigeons when I was a kid for a couple of years including one pair of suicide rollers,and decided to get into having birds around again seriously,January 06 when a small black feral pigeon landed on and fed from our wildbird feeder in the front yard for a few days.I've since obtained some good Birmingham Roller breeders and also some I'm not so sure about.One pair is from some English birds Neville Eccles imported,and the rest are from the bloodline Monty Neibel created.My main goal with this hobby is to enjoy myself;next,breed good rollers;then oneday,I'll compete with the guys in my area.Making new freinds and showing people how sweet it is to watch birds perform is another reason for my interest in pigeons.I'm also trying to get enough white racers together to perform wedding releases.Kind regards to all,and Health to the Pigeons.

Nov 06,,Now have 3 pair of BR's to breed from and 6 pair of pumpers.Flying one kit of 25 birds raised in my loft and a kit of 23 given to me by Allan Hunt.All Neible birds except a little Barrett blood in some I raised.Trying to refine my breeding technique with individual breeding cages.Got four pair of white racers to start multiplying and chomping at the bit to start the breeding season.Enjoying this hobby immensely!!

Raised 65 Rollers this season and have 35 white homers flying out of my loft doing wedding releases and memorials.Last month bought 2 pairs of a diving breed called Doneks and one pair sitting is on their first set of eggs.Got these Doneks from a Greek gentleman living in Scarbourough,Ontario and he originally imported eggs directly from Greece to start his flock,back in '69.

Rollers are doing good 25- 06 and mostly o7 birds left flying plus only keeping 15 08s this year.Have 45 white homers now and 15 Doneks flying.The Donek are a gas to watch and once they have flown out some time they are fairly good at diving away and escaping the falcons.Now getting some Oriental Rollers to try out from 2 different sources.
