For those with an interest in Kit Birds - each month we will be listing a limited number up for sale. They will be posted as squeakers at about 2-3 months old and then initiated into our training regimen where their progress will be documented in the Key Performance Indicator Chart (KPI).
As training progresses and improvement is seen the asking price for the bird will increase reflecting the growing investment of our time and expertise toward their training, care and maintenance. We will also update the listing pictures from time to time to reflect conditioning and physical maturity.
Using the the Key Performance Indicator Chart you can monitor the progress of any Kit Bird you might have an interest in. You can also make an immediate purchase at any point in its training. You can introduce this bird into your own kit or hold it for stock. Any you purchase will be shipped on the next shipping day (Tuesdays unless other arrangements are made).
Please remember: A Birmingham Roller will usually develop and mature throughout its first year following proper training procedures. Some hit their best performance during the second year of proper training.
Birds that come into deeper rolling at an earlier stage (say 3 or 4 months) are by no means the superior specimen as they can present a set of unique and challenging problems due to immaturity. Others that come into the deeper rolling at about 5 to 6 months and even 8 to 9 months are often less prone to becoming what are called roll downs or problematic “out birds”. Each birds' progress is unique and the fancier has to be mindful of that fact. Birds not meeting the requirements of Levels 1,2 or 3 are culled.
