Tony, Has the board been receiving enough spam to warrant the spam prevention measures in place? I'm old, I'm naive, I can barely post what I want before falling asleep and now I have to pass a test? Big Smiley Face!
Just asking my friend Thom

Thom, no, we have little to no spam. Unfortunately, the host company has programmed the requirement into the forum setup. I strongly suggested they make spam prevention an option, I am not holding my breath. I have been toying with a new forum host that has many more user options, member levels and cool features. Unfortunately, I would have to remove this forum. Thoughts? ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

I would follow and I believe site loyalty would prevail. Understand, it is not even the bother, I can't see the code and have to go through several times to get my post up. I'm old, I'm blind, can't hear and get cranky when my blood sugar is low. Other then that, I'm a nice guy! Big ole toothy grin! :)
If it is cost effective, then switch but if not, I'll just deal with the code. I was mostly courious as to why.
Take care my friend
Thom

Spam is generated electronically. Electronic messages can not see the 6 character codes to validate the messages that are being sent are genuine and not an attack on the server to jam the communication line with overwhelming garbage; therefore, they get stopped from posting and filling up the server with garbage. Spam can take a server down in a heart beat and cause thousand of dollars in damages.
