Hi all my knew friends,my Ruby's arrived this morning and they are all healthy and no injuries from their trip. This brings back so many good memories from the past.It also reminds me of how bad my memory has gotten over the years too. That's why I'm thankful for this forum and all the good members that are eager to help a fellow pigeon man.
This forum has been so valueable to me in learning and refreshing my memory.
I want to thank Thom for your willingness to help a newbee with so many questions.I look forward to meeting alot of you in the future at the fly's and conventions.I hope to be competeing with you all in the future, but most of all just making some great friendships.

God Bless
James Herring

Sammy,
I am in the same boat but, someone on here will be able to help you post pics. I had 5 youngsters from my first round this season, only breeding from 3 pair, they had only been up four times now, and yesterday the bops got 3 of them. It turns out that fish and game has a nesting pair of falcons 5 blocks from my house. This is going to be interesting. I will have to vary my fly times to try and fool the bops.

I hate to hear that James,do the falcons stay year round where you live or migrate?Hopefully they will move on out of your area.We have cooper hawks here and I'm going to try the balloon's to try and keep them away.Once again good luck.

Hey Sammy, Do you have a photobucket account? If not it's free. Upload you pictures to photobucket, then choose HTML Code and copy, start your post with the text first if you want then hit paste and you will see the code. Once you post your message the picture will be there. There are a couple of fine points I should mention. Open R.P.D.C first, start your post then minimise before you open photobucket. If you are pasting more then one picture hit enter three times between pictures.

Hope this helps

Sammy,
the winters are pretty mild here so, I am thinking the falcons will hang around. I will be moving to the country in 3-4 months. Until then, I will try flying my young ones at different times each day to try and fool the Falcons. I cannot find fault with the birds of prey, they are just doing what nature has programed them to do, and after all, they are beautiful birds. I just wish they would learn to eat seagulls, LOL.

James, I don't fault the B.O.P., I fault our government that has allowed the balance to become so one sided. On any given day I can look up and see six to ten Cooper hawks circling over head like vultures! I saw a Cooper hawk so hungry it jumped out of a hedge row onto the back of a cat! :) I'm still not sure who was the most surprised! They are not so pretty when they have your best young bird in their talons. :(

Take care

Good luck with your new birds and before you fly keep a eye to sky and if they are not clear do not let us no here do what you have to do to keep your sky's clear. I am trying my hand at poetry-try so let us know on how the sky's are "wow" Dennis

Hi Thom,
You are exactly right my friend, thats the very reason we have so many different hunting seasons, over population of any species throws the balance of things out of whack. I just wish the powers that be, would realize this. I will never have a full kit if I keep sending up 6 at a time so, I will wait until I have raised 25-30 youngsters, when the last round is ready to fly, I will send all of them up at once. But, this is about Sammy and his new birds, Sammy, at least you did some research before you sent off your money to parts un-known. A lot of begginers get ripped off the first time out, does R.K. ring a bell to anyone? I have heard good things about the Ruby"s Sammy, if you manage them right, you should be very happy. Good luck my friend.
