I know pigeons have good facial recognition as well a large visual vocabulary. But to sort of prove this, i flew two birds to test the sky, and when they came down, my room mate whom they have never really interacted with tried to get a bird to land and feed from her hand. The bird was definately spooked by her. I then, stepped in, and put out my hand, and the bird came readily. Just interesting, makes me feel special.

My birds definitely know me and I like to think they like me. I know my breeders do not like strangers in their loft.

My birds know me and will come when I call them. If my son tries to call them they do not respond. I can walk out of my patio door and they will fly to me if they are hungry enough.

My birds can be seen acting excited at feeding time even before I get comletely out the back door and into the back yard. They also recognize my truck when pulling under the carport and arriving home at that paticular time. The feedcan has a lot of control in many ways.

My birds deffo no me and also no my voice.
My familey can go in the garden and they will not react but if I go in the garden they start coming to the windows of the loft and fly about as if trying to get my attenshion.
Also If I take anyone into my loft the birds will fly wild but if I am alone they just get on with what they were doing as if I wasnt even there.
yours in roll.

Our birds definitely recognize us and understand what we say. I was in the foster pen this evening checking on some squeeks that I put on the floor yesterday. One of the cocks flew down and started harrassing a squeek. I looked at him and said, "knock that s#$& off" He looked at me then flew back to his box.
