No I'm not Marcus Allen.

Played some college football though.... but never made it to the pro's.

Dammmmitt!!!

...well anyway

I have an uncle who played with the Baltimore Colts from 1969-to-1971

....and

A cousin who went to UCLA in the 80's... was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys during the 1st round (18th overall) in the 1986 NFL Draft.

He played in 8 NFL seasons from 1986 and 1990 to 1996. My cousin played with 4 different teams in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys, the San Francisco 49ers, the New York Giants, and the Denver Broncos.

NOTE: My cous has a Super Bowl ring he won with DB Ronnie Lott, QB Steve Young and WR Jerry Rice in Super Bowl XXIV against Boomer Esiason and the Cincinnatti Bengals.

JTSMASH.... you ever hear of a football player named Mike Sherrard? He was a wide-out.

Holla...

Good morning CSRA.... yes indeed my cousin played Division I Collegiate Football as a wide receiver for the UCLA Bruins.

Michael Watson Sherrard was born in Oaktown (Oakland, Calif.) just like me over 40 years ago.

Cliff Branch #21 -- World Class Sprinter/Wideout

Hmmm....

Since we are discussing the Raaaiderrs....

Any of you "Die-Hard Raider Fans" out there remember this ferocious hit by another #32. Talking about Strong Safety Jack Tatum's head-thrashing and teeth shattering hit on Sammy White in Super Bowl XII.

MY cousin made it Hiesman Trophy winner John Avery.too bad the 1980 games were boycotted, I was in the runnining in the 400 meter hurdels.I used to hand the baton off to Henry Ellard @ fresno state. he went on to become a ram receiver of the rams football team .Ii also ran a few times in the west coast relays. Efren Lopez i lived in inglewood for many years.used to play basketball and went to school with Reggie Theus.SO much for history

March Madness is back and I love it!

I'm a California guy (Northern region) so naturally I'm going to root for teams out of the Golden State in these National Collegiate contests.

My team the Standford Cardinals were knocked out of the Elite 8. Now my focus is on the UCLA Bruins to do good in the Final 4.

Hi Coyote...

Dude I'm full of energy! Folks use to think I was on steroids because I was so darn funky back in my younger days. (smile)

But seriously though, the Oakland "Raaaaaiders" are in a emotionally and highy critical transitional phase of trying to recapture the RAIDER MYSTIQUE within this once proud and mighty professional football organization. Legendary gridiron champions have won big games for the Silver & Black.

Men like:
1) Defensive End Howie Long
2) Quarterback Kenny Stabler
3) Wideout Jerry Rice
4) All Purpose Receiver Touchdown Timmy Brown
5) Linebacker Ted Hendricks
6) Quarterback Jim Plunkett
7) Tightend Dave Casper
8) Wide Receiver Fred Biletnikoff
9) Defensive Back Mike Haynes
10) Runningback Bo Jackson
11) Hall of Fame Q.B. and Kicker George Blanda
12) Strong Safety Jack Tatum "The Assasin"!

I don't think Al "The Godfather" Davis wants to leave this earth until he witnesses another valiant Superbowl victory! When that will be who knows the way these men in Silver & Black have been playing over the recent years.

....however

Your Dallas Cowboys are going to be just fine with smooth as silk Tony Romo doing his thing at Q.B. I know Jerry Jones has gotta love the heck out of Romo.

.....oh well

Since this thread is a commerative spotlight on the great "Hall of Famer" #32 Marcus Allen.... it would only be fair to end it with a snapshot of Marcus smoothly cutting against the grain against Raiders archrivals (the Chiefs)!

Hey Coyote....

Your "BOYS" didn't do too bad in the 1st Round of the 2008 NFL Draft with 2 picks.

They picked up 6ft 1in 200lb Running Back Felix Jones out of Arkansas with the 22nd overall pick. Now that Julius Jones has left as a free agent, Felix Jones should fit right in as a great complement to Marion Barber. He's a faster, breakaway-type of player, while Barber is more of a power back. Jones rushed for 2,956 yards and 20 touchdowns on 386 carries at Arkansas while sharing carries with Darren McFadden.

With the 25th overall pick in the 1st Round of the 2008 NFL Draft your boys traded up to take 6ft 200lb Cornerback Mike Jenkins out of South Florida University (It's in the Big East Conference).

NOTE: Although he had just six interceptions in 48 games, Jenkins has good coverage skills. He's also a good tackler with great speed. You can't take Pacman Jones into consideration here and Jenkins is a value pick.

Jenkins improved his draft stock, showing professional scouts that his blazing speed could also be used as a kickoff returner. On the first kickoff return for 2007, he set a school record with a 100-yard touchdown return -vs- Cincinnati University.

How `bout dem COWBOYS!

So now that Basketball Season is over it appears Baseball season is in full swing.

Hmmm....

I'm ready for some "FOOTBALL".

The Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomes its 2007 class — DB Darrell Green, WR Art Monk, DE Fred Dean, RB Emmitt Thomas, LB Andre Tippett and Lineman Gary Zimmerman - into Canton.

The following day it will be the Indianapolis Colts versus the Washington Redskins in the annual Hall of Fame game.

It won't be long before the NFL will be playing that Hall of Fame Football game in Canton, Ohio. As a matter of fact it will be on Sunday, August 3rd 2008 @ 7:00 p.m.

I can't wait til next month for some bone-crashing head ringing hits on the grid iron!

It will be the Indianapolis Colts versus the Washington Redskins in the annual Hall of Fame NFL game.

By the way. My uncle who graduated from the California Golden Bears played for the old Baltimore Colts before owner Art Modell, (the owner of the Cleveland Browns), moved the team to Maryland. They were then renamed the Baltimore Ravens. As part of the unique deal, the Cleveland Browns franchise was deactivated and the Modell organization gave up ownership of statistics, records, and trademarks. Those would be given to the new Browns owners.

NOTE: Arthur B. Modell (born June 23, 1925, Brooklyn, New York) is a former National Football League team owner. He owned the Cleveland Browns from 1961-1995 and the Baltimore Ravens from 1996-2004.

I played football with Mo Williams when I was in 9th grade. He later played for the University of Kentucky and Minnesota Vikings. We played for the Crawford Cougars and barely had enough guys to make a team, and most of us had to play offense and defense. This was junior high school back then. He was in 8th grade, and I was in 9th grade. He beat me out for half-back. We lost one game the whole season. Very fond memories. One of the best records in the school's history. I always tell people I could have been a contender...lol.
