Sandy, go to the Reading room and look at Tony's 14 day program, I believe it will answer your questions and you can enter it in the archive search and get many answers to Yo-Yo system

I still need more clearance on how the yo -yo systome work the piece of Tony has nothing to do with the 3 day yo-yo systome. Its breaking down and building up but I dont exactly understand it.

Monte Neibel wrote an article on yo-yo feeding in the May 1990 APJ. It goes basically like this and is for old bird kits being flown every third day. It is a stress on stress off system to keep them stimulated and performing well as you cannot hold them at one point very long.

first day of rest - 1 cup
second day of rest - 3/4 cup
fly day - 2-3/4 cup
every nine days - two cups pigeon ration

This is based on wheat or wheat mix and is for twenty birds. He said he also fed a mineral grit and adjusted up or down slightly as needed to get a forty minute fly time.
I have been doing it for two weeks now and have gotten some amazing results out of my FOR's. I had a three bird kit roll 122 times in twenty minutes and they flew a total of thirty five minutes and didnt slow down any. I use wheat and milo and pig grower pellets. It has made my Fireballs too hot and worked good on my BR's and didnt affect my Galati's any but they are still a young bird kit.

Well,

I have been on this system for about 3 years now and I am happy with it...just make sure you pay close attention to the birds...espcially if they get light on you...if they feel like a piece of balsa wood....or cork...then they are to light..then you may have to give them more mix..but they tend to stay in pretty good shape on this system.....if they start flying short times and feel light or get over active...feed them more mix and more rest...just play with it...but when you make a change...keep if for at least two weeks so that your change has time to kick in...once you have them dialed in...then the you can make minimal changes and the effects are daily...

Hello,

just interested in the feeding ideas, the methods outlined sound good, but mainly refer to flying your kit every 3 days, what if you fly them more frequently or is that not advisable?
