Jay, List,

Last summer, Wendall Carter had a 20-bird kit of white self rollers out of his Jake n Bakes, he called his White Lightening Kit, that could have competed in any competition. He had a habit of flying them at dusk and into the night. One of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen was that kit flying after dark in the light of a full moon breaking and rolling, working as a team in the glow of the moonlight illuminating those white birds. Unfortunately, the relentless BOP attacks all summer eventually got them all. Darn shame.....
YITS,
Cliff

The best kit of red/yellow rollers (never fewer than 60 sometimes as many as 90) were flown by late Charlie Hubbs.
The red's and yellow's were the same family and Charlie would fly both young bird kit and also a old bird kit.
Charlie never wanted to ship birds - but I would help him if he did. Over the past 40 years I would say we shipped to every state in USA.
Many of the quality yellows that are flying today, I am sure go back to his blood.
I personally watched these kit's for over forty years - thousands of birds only red's and yellow's and they would fly , kit and spin with the best.

To add a little history to what Keith mentioned - Arnold Jackson's full house line originally came from Doug Thorley and they were called the Ballerina strain by Doug Thorley. The yellow's that Doug had also come down from Bob Evans and Jim Johnston. The Thorley / Jackson yellows could spin with high velocity as well as the ones Richard Luna flew and it is rumored that Bill Ferrell’s yellows (Richards stock) were also from Doug but I cannot substantiate this as fact.
