hi chubs we have a fly in progress this week, its an intenational qualifier to pick a team to fly against South Africa at the end of May. If you wanted to go along on one of the days to see the fly you would have to get permission by the person who is flying. what area are you from? we also have club flys, and world cup flys, also the AERC fly at the end of July begining of August, and the nationals at the end of September begining of October, you would also need permision to go along to these flys. hope this helps Lana

why would you need permission from the guy that is flying,,,thank god i live here in australia where people are only to happy to ask you along,,,whats with you guys its only pigeons,,i have been through the entire 3 or 4 pages of posts here and i dont see many people sticking there hands up to offer birds or lend a couple of breeders,,you need to let go of it,and be a bit more friendly and open or you will end up in the same boat as the pigeon racers with dwindling numbers,,,ohh thats right ,,you already are,, ---------- FLY HIGH=ROLL DEEP

well said john im another northener whos helped more people out than i care to remember.ive give + leant some of the best pigeons in the country to people.and we all welcome people on our flys with open arms. but for someone who knows nothing about what went on over here last year + this year to say we should be more friendly i think its an insult.chubb + any one else you are all welcome on any of the flys all it takes is 1 courtesy call to let the flyer know you are genuine + not a pigeon thief.unfortunatly one thing that we cant be proud of in england is theres far too many birds been stolen in the last 12 months.

I'll wait while my aerc membership is sorted & make a few calls then john. I'm finding it very hard to get birds but i think it's more time of year & people being unable to help than not wanting too.

hi all John i agree with you it is an insult to say that we are not friendly, we are more friendly than most people and welcome new people in the hobby very much, but as we all know in England there have been too many lofts robbed as of late and people are getting wary about who they let round to their lofts, if its not the bop its a thief to contend with and its very heartbreaking to have birds that you have spent lots of time and energy breeding and rearing them, flying them and perfecting them to your satisfaction, only to have them all taken by a scum of the earth thief. Chubs if you want to catch up with the international qualifier fly give me a ring on 07970521373 i will see were the fly is at and get permision off the flyer for you. regards Lana

Well said Lana and John You both are spot on. I myself and that i know others that are thinking the same are very weary of flying in competition because of the thieving that's been happening over the last few years. The guys are frightened of having thieves round their houses not knowing the background of the guys and not knowing anything about them at all. These thieves come round flys looking and weighing up the flyers lofts only to later rob them. So that is why people these days are not coming forward to help people. I know it s a shame and a sorry state because 99.9% of people are generally great people but the 0.1% are spoiling it for the rest. The guys up in Borough used the auction in a neutral venue was a great idea and if any new flyers want birds these are the places to go.I myself wont allow anyone to my house who i dont know and i think this is happening over the UK. Hope you guys know where i am coming from. Thieving Scumbags are spoiling it for the decent people around and depriving the new starter. ---------- Regards W@yne UK Patience Perseverance Perfection ===================================== www.waynegrovesrollers.piczo.com

Hi all myself and Paul do loads to help the sport in general and helping out newcomers both as AERC sec and personally. we had 110 pigeons stolen 2 weeks ago and although lucky enough to get most of them back we are now having the heartbreak and expense of seeing the birds die as a result of some disease they picked up in the dirty scumbag thieves loft. the police don't care so what else can we do but be careful about who we have in our yards. it might not make a difference but eh at least you feel like your doing something. our loft will be like fort knox but the damage is already done. one fancier actually said we are too nice to people and let folk into our yard when we don't really know them, but i agree the 0.01% will end up spoiling the sport for the geniue folk which they are loads of, many that we consider as friends. well end of rant LOL Donna
