Roller-Pigeon.Com: A Work Of Passion and A Dream

Since January 2004, RPDC has been published and operated by the husband and wife team of Tony & Joni Chavarria. Originally of Southern California, in 2005 they relocated away from the rat-race and went 2000 miles across the country to settle into the small quiet country town of Seymour, Missouri where they now run and operate RPDC full-time in a more relaxed country setting.

Before setting out on this new journey, both Tony and Joni were successfully employed as Operations Managers each at their respective employers enjoying and thankful for their careers and responsibilities. However, the call of owning a business of his own - especially one started from his favorite pastime, was too much to get Tony to settle and cash-in his hopes and dreams for the “security” of a weekly paycheck. Enter Roller-Pigeon.Com.

The Dream Comes To Life

While there were other roller websites available when his quest began, at the time, nothing appealed to his desire for a practical, useful, well-designed website with good materials that could generate “buzz”.  In this he saw a rare opportunity to present the roller community with a both a “serious and fun” website full of fresh ideas, approaches and concepts. So, Tony brought his passion for debate, love of writing and his ideas into the site where fortunately it was met by a great group of site visitors in just the right combination to produce Roller-Pigeon.Com.

But at first, it was not easy or cheap. Before RPDC became what it is today, Tony and Joni invested thousands of dollars into web-programmers who could never quite translate his vision to web pages, so finally, not wanting his vision to die, Tony grabbed the bull by the horns and took over the actual designing of web pages, site features and management in order to attain the vision he had for a site carrying the name: “Roller-Pigeon.Com”. Fortunately, once he did so, the site popularity took an immediate upward trend and has not looked back since!

Imitation: The Sincerest Form Of Flattery

In the years since 2004, RPDC has spawned more than one website copycat that has come and gone, highlighting even more Tony’s passion and commitment to his dream, desire, unique experience which making it difficult at best, to copy the blood-sweat and tears it cost in creating Roller-Pigeon.Com’s originality and special connection with its site members and visitors.

The decision for Tony and Joni to jump into the roller fancy entirely feet first and the  selfless  participation of its visitors make RPDC the kind of website it is, a success to the benefit of the entire online roller pigeon fancy.

Answering The Call 24/7 Since 2004

From January 2004 to January 2008, Roller-Pigeon.Com has had almost 9 Million website page views! Many have confessed that visiting RPDC is addicting, so much so that for many, it is the first site they log into and view in the morning and last one at night. Some have even confessed to perusing All Roller Talk in the middle of the night; reading the newest posts and threads. While others still, have confessed to participating on the site while at work!

It’s All About Community

Roller-Pigeon.Com is a website about roller pigeons, it’s about the fanciers who breed, fly and compete with them, it’s about providing a safe, web-based community of roller pigeon enthusiasts from all walks of life to meet, learn and discuss their own knowledge and experiences.

Tony believes that more learning is done and fun to be had when ideas and opinions are openly vetted and submitted to the rendering process that is All Roller Talk…making RPDC an asset to the entire online roller pigeon community!

It's An Online Roller Pigeon Club

Many roller fanciers, young and old, new and old-hands, have benefited from and enjoyed the unique experience and experiment that is RPDC. It has uniquely gathered together much of the online roller pigeon community which is strewn all over the USA and the world and made it smaller, better connected and more popular than ever.

Along with each person who participates, RPDC creates a fun, positive and vibrant learning environment by encouraging, not discouraging the sharing of sometimes controversial, hard-headed ideas and opinions in the effort to maintain and develop the Ideal Birmingham Roller Pigeon.
